I went for a job interview at our local township last week. I didn't get the job. I was pretty bummed. The person vacating the position was retiring and here I am at 61, interviewing. I suspect they wanted someone younger, even though I still have plenty of years left in me. Ageism exists.

He said he would discuss a "new world order" that, he said, was coming to "replace the unipolar one". NEW WORLD ORDER. Let that sink in for a moment.

One guilty pleasure of mine is I like to watch car redo shows, especially when they turn them into hotrods or something really different. I don't know much about cars but I'm a sucker for these shows.

My wife fed the furballs this morning and let me sleep in on my birthday. Unfortunately, she was exposed to Covid at work, so now our plans are cancelled for the weekend. Looks like it's going to be a quiet birthday. At least there is cake in my future.

One thing I notice as I get older; I can't take the heavy bed covers like I used to. I can't even tuck my covers under the mattress because of the pressure on my feet. My wife gave me my b-day gift early; an electric blanket. I love it! It's the little things that make us happy.
