So this was creepy / stalker-y, though it being from the creeper's / stalker's perspective, and them being a woman creeping / stalking a woman, held my interest.

When talking about their influences, some fantasy authors will cite "Dungeons & Dragons." But in my new interview with author Holly Searcy, she says her high fantasy novel "The Shiver Tree" actually started as the backstory to her "D&D" character.
