Is it cliché to say a poet has a way with words? A vivid way? Well, fuck it; she does.

While author Cameron Reed's name may not be as familiar to fans of cyberpunk science fiction as Philip K. Dick's or William Gibson's, that may now change thanks to Tor Books reissuing her 1996 novel "The Fortunate Fall." To learn more about this pioneering novel, check out this exclusive interview.

Didn't get far enough into it to form an opinion yet. Well, except that it's very Russian.

This modern military in a fantasy realm story was engaging, clever, and all the better for being very self-aware.

Fourth book of hers I've read (second earliest), and this was as solid as the rest.

Like a lot of writers these days, Brenda Peynado is exploring the multiverse. Except that in her sci-fi novella "Time's Agent," she's not sending people to parallel universes, but to pocket ones, and for very personal reasons. To find out why, check out this exclusive interview.

I can't live in space, and I don't like opera...and yet, one of my favorite genres of science fiction, regardless of medium, is space opera. Which is why I was excited to trade emails with Jonathan Strahan, editor of the new sci-fi short story anthology "New Adventures In Space Opera" for this Q&A.

In Alexandra Beaumont's folkloric / historical fantasy novel "Dissonance Of Bird Song," people must inhale enchanted mist from the lungs of birds to survive. Why would she do this to them? For that, you'll have to read this exclusive interview.

In lesser hands, a "Call Of Duty" meets "Lord Of The Rings" novel might fail spectacularly, but so far, this is pulling it off in a fun way.

This was my kind of book: smart, inventive, exciting, and super fun to read. Good stuff.

Having put his own spin on the portal fantasy genre with "The Magicians," writer Lev Grossman is doing something similar to King Arthur and The Knights Of The Round Table in his epic fantasy novel "The Bright Sword." To find out how, and why, check out this exclusive interview.

Her best come when she allows herself to be a bit rough, and this one got rough a fair amount.

While I had to suffer the indignity of seeing (a certain someone who shall remain nameless asked me to go so I can talk about it in a video next week), I somewhat mitigated the pain by having the best pancakes in L.A. Suffice it to say, they didn't look like this for long.

I say this as a big fan of the games, wasn't as bad as some people are saying, but it also isn't as good as I was hoping it would be. It was, as the kids say, mid.
