Seems like this is going to be as wild and crazy as the first book.

While the Matthew Shipp Trio's new album, "New Concepts In Piano Trio Jazz," may not exactly fulfil the promise of its name, it does have them making some of the most interesting music of their collective career. Here's the link to my review.

Influences can be interesting, especially when they're unexpected. Like in my new Q&A with writer / artist Leela Corman about her graphic novel "Victory Parade," in which she cites the iconic experimental band Einstürzende Neubauten, the sitcom "M*A*S*H," author Primo Levi, singer Josephine Baker, and painter Otto Dix, among others.
