Well, saw Aquaman 2 and eeesh... I had very low expectations to begin with and was still disappointed. Randall Park was a highlight and Jason Momoa is always easy to watch but neither of them could pull the terrible writing (I swear it was AI written), poor editing, jokes that don't land and then are lingered on, terrible pacing and at least 3 points where they literally lost me and then had to explain things AFTER they had happened, not even joking). None of the emotional beats work. None.
There were some funny sibling moments with momoa and wilson but they weren't close enough to make it work. Super questionable design choices for the set alongside too many blatant promo spots drag it out even further. At one point they have a product placement 'scene' where there is an unexplained 'you have 15 minutes or they'll find us' scene just to show a timepiece that literally no one would ever buy and then never make mention of it again. I felt sorry for the actors in it. Hot Garbage.
@lilyunsub had a feeling this movie wouldn’t be good from the get go. Thank you for your honest review. I mean I’ll still see it but wait a while.
