"He is both king and vagabond. He is both warrior and witch. He is both a God of sober knowledge and ecstasy, inspiration, and esotericism. Revealer of truths and a liar. God of community frið (peace) and of war. Of both life and death. Both protecting patron god and trickster. He is both all seeing and blinded. Both masculine and feminine." I live this. As much as I love my family, I have to remind myself that they are trying and doing the best they can to learn and accept the pronouns I prefer. I often hear shi, hir around me and it can be hard sometimes but I know that my husband means it in the alternate spelling rather than she/her and I love him so very much for that. But here, and other online spaces I do prefer they/them shi/hir. Masculine pronouns give me such a big boost in my mood, okay? But I don't mind, really!

For a long while, MIL referred to me with It as my pronouns, and I sort of went with it because I knew that she was learning and adjusting. Now she refers to me as they them, it took her a while to get used to it, but she's been a giant supportive figure in my life and I have her to thank for building up my courage to keep being my authentic self.

I came out to my husbands family on this day, seven years ago. It was a bit of a hiccup-y experience, scary for the first few months, but the years that followed had only gotten better and better as my MIL started to learn more about the transgender experience as well as my polyam/pansexual experiences too. That's not to say everyone accepts the whole package of me being me. But I gave my sister in law the courage to come out as pan herself.

Today is National Coming out day, but we also must remember those that do so in violent and endangered housing situations. It's okay to stay in the closet until you are in a safer situation, I promise, there are safer places to be your authentic self.

Anyone that tells you being transgender is a mental health disorder, is lying through their teeth. It's so MUCH more complex than that. "Being transgender is not a mental illness. But people who are transgender face unique challenges, such as gender dysphoria and discrimination, which can affect their mental health. Getting support and assistance from a qualified provider can bring healing and help you live a healthier, more fulfilling life." src: Cleveland Clinic my.clevelandclinic.org/health/

Oh my gods, I got the confirmation for a Point of Pride binder! Pardon me while my happy trans ass SCREAMS WITH JOY!

Something I want to share. Recently GC and "LGB" hate group members have been going on and on about a debunked theory about transgender identifying people being a social contagion. Thing is, we've always fucking been here. We just don't feel safe coming out to UNSAFE people. Reason there's so many of us coming out, is because of better medicine practices, surgical practices, and studies understanding us better.

The news about AP Psychology being banned in Florida seems to be still correct, in spite of three major news outlets making the claims otherwise. Read more here. popular.info/p/psyched-out-how

I wish there was more national attention to this issue. Transfolk should not have to expose themselves to PROVE who they are gender wise. It doesn't matter who they present as, what matters is the fact that the duputy attacked and tried to take the life of a transgender teacher. youtube.com/watch?v=jJYeTiHb5m
