Folks, allies, I need you to listen and pay close attention. We're at a point in time that people are getting hurt, attacked, and killed for identifying, supporting, educating about, and being LGBTQ+. This same thing happened at the beginning of the 2nd world war. We can't let this keep happening, or we will be facing another tragedy, this time organized by Christian Nationalists.

This isn't just one instance either.
Mapping of increased hate and violence against the LGBTQ+ has been done and kept up to date, as we have organizations already calling out the harmful acts and legislative moves in the US. Keep in mind, we are perhaps 7.1% of the US population here.

The biggest issue in this is that we have people in power, people WITH power, that have been feeding and stoking the fires of this type of behavior for how many years now? 20, 30+ years? It has to stop, it has to be put out, but how do we go about doing this? We as a nation and as a society SHOULD be fighting back, but how do we, when we get silenced by all in power?

By knowledge. Education, and acceptance.

In WW2 there were Nazi's here in the US, advocating and supporting the movement overseas and trying to dismantle the war efforts in the US. People with power, with money, that poured funding into slowing the war machine, and pulling the US out of the war against Nazi Germany. This is not widely taught in the US education systems, but it should be. nationalww2museum.org/war/arti /nosanitizer

The number of lives were effected and lost by those actions is incalculable, it's fair to really think on what these brands and corporations are supporting when they pull their Pride merch, and drop mentions of Pride, because right now? We're in the beginnings of a social war. We need to recognize the harm that those supporting the push to harm the LGBTQ+ folks and community, and fight back against it. Even if it means sitting down to host discussions about what it is to live as LGBTQ.

If you are an ally, or have friends and family that are LGBTQ, do not be afraid to speak up, and educate those around you that are uninformed. Ask your LGBTQ friends to share their experiences, their fears, and most importantly, give them space to speak without interruption on what they are facing here in our own nations soils. Begin, with understanding.

Now I do know there might be some buck back in regards to the comparisons of history of the Nazi movement, to today's actions and society, but the comparison is mirroring and quite stark. Take a real critical look at what these people are saying today, and look back at what was said back then as well. You'll see it for yourself. History may have been written by the victors, but the silent, are the ones that suffer in the hands of supposed victors. Keep that in mind. The facts don't lie.
