@MLClark I am lucky to have as many Canadian friends as I do, and often the running gag among us is the reputation Canada has of being the quiet upstairs apartment over a raging kegger.
In truth, the old maxim holds true, it's always the quiet ones.
^_^
Ohhh! But more recent research says we're more conscientiously avoiding swearing in public these days. So you got me! 😅
You can take the Canuck out of the beaver dam, but...
@MLClark We Americans have plenty of reason to shout profanity towards the heavens now a days.
If we aren't careful the Canadians and the rest of the world will join us in chorus, I fear.
Canadian politics have already been compromised by Republican rhetoric, alack - but it's been a two-way street for years. We're responsible for Jordan P, who animated many US hatemongers with anti-trans and other sexist rhetoric while railing against "wokeness", but Republicans funded the trucker convoy in Canada and openly supported it from office, and now our Conservative leader is boldly pushing anti-trans bill BS following the US playbook.
So we're partners in sad crimes. :(
A recent example of Canada's contribution to the dull, cruel moment we live in. Apparently reducing death rates by re-zoning parking is "woke". 🙄
@MLClark @NiveusLepus
Wow, that's something. I knew Jordan P was awful, but he keeps finding new, surprising ways to prove it.
This is why I marvel at how hard so many of us are on ourselves. There are genuine hatemongers in our world, and people with staggering greed causing catastrophic suffering.
But probably the two go hand-in-hand. My ability to agonize over a grouchy word I uttered a week ago keeps me too busy to be an utter jerkwad on a larger scale. 🙃 It's all about time management.
Wow, JP, just wow. I would think even his fans would notice something fked up about that one, but I'm not holding my breath.
@NiveusLepus
You'd think, but at least around 2010 that was all a ruse.
"Curses! Canadians swear more than Americans?"

That was before 2016, though. I imagine you US folks caught up then. 😬
