@MLClark I too have seen the divide media has tried to create.
There is a lot of difference between the boomer generations and the ones that followed, but to my mind, that means we have a lot to learn from each other. I've had so many kind people in my life from the silent, greatest, and boomer generations.
Boomers aren't bad, X's, millenials, etc are not lazy. It's just a rapidly evolving time.
There doesn't need to be division. We can and do help each other.
@NiveusLepus @MLClark there's also a divide within the Boomers. Those of us who are late Boomers--the Jones Generation--had a very different experience from our older peers. I saw the beginning of the doors closing that impacted the X gens.
@joycereynoldsward @MLClark Im a First Gen millennial, I was born in 81 so I grew up with X'ers being just a little older than me.
One of my partners is Gen X, he was born in 76
@NiveusLepus
Agreed, dear friend. Well said. I'm currently also working on a piece "against generationalism": pro-solidarity with the people who've been doing what they could to fight the good fight long before either of us was born.
I'm just *done* with the way so much of mass media wants to keep us all locked in simplistic chronological competition with each other for a better world.
