These Prop 65 warnings were mandated based on good intentions, but they are rarely helpful in practice.

@Dane It would be equivalent to a 31.7499999... TPI inch screw, which isn't a thing. 32 TPI is a common inch screw pitch, but that isn't close enough.

@bit Yes, it's the pitch of the M5 screw I was trying to identify. :)

This otherwise excellent thread pitch gauge does not include 0.8mm pitch… Inconceivable!

@Ishihara I love the crisp and high contrast e-ink display on my Kindle reader for linear content like novels, but it’s way to slow and clunky for random access reference material. BTW, this book is also sold as a bundle of the hard cover book plus the digital edition, which seems like a good idea to me. Printer book is nicer for browsing, and digital can be nice for finding something specific.

@Ishihara A digital version is available, but using a 2600 page reference book on my Kindle would not be pleasant. Even as a PDF I would rather use the printed edition. Also, my Kindle Paperwhite is not good at rendering tables and diagrams, and this book is mostly tables and diagrams.

I’m getting too old to read this. I need to order the large print edition.

@logandustman Yeah, probably. But I wasn’t even spending my own money; it’s the boss’s money! Derp.

Why did I wait so long to try using spiral flute taps? They are so much easier to work with than the straight flute ones!

Now, how cynical should I be? Should I put off beginning the board design until the box actually arrives? And what about every other component in the design? That's just the microcontroller I plan to use.

So, I'm starting on a personal project. I picked the ATmega16U4 because a few hundred were in stock at Digi-Key yesterday. Well, today they're gone! Mouser had 45 in stock, so I just ordered 25. I only need 3 of the damn things for an OSH Park board run, but who knows when I'll be able to get more?

Step 1: Order lifetime supply of some microcontroller that happens to be in stock.
Step 2: Start product design.

This is the crazy time we're in.

Still can't upgrade to CoSo Pro yet, but things seem smooth otherwise. Thanks for all of the hard work dealing with this surprise growth spurt! 🍻

@BobC7000 I may not be a Musk fan, but his satellite internet offering promises to be a big improvement over cellular tethering at my rural fringe home.

Irony intensifies: Twitter escapee connects to CoSo over brand new Starlink. 😂
