The life of an aging public defender during a pandemic is a bit risky.

Today I had office appointments for out-of-custody clients. Two of my clients informed me at the end of their appointments that they had been exposed to “the Rona” via family. Both had family members who had tested positive and were quarantined at home. One coughed.

I wear a mask. I wash my hands like a freaking raccoon. I shower as soon as I get home and put clothes in the wash. But still...

But anyway, it is Thursday, or, as I prefer to think of it, Friday Eve Day.

My daughter-in-law is Chinese American, as is my grandson.

This is what we’ve come to. Racists are emboldened, empowered.

Today at the courthouse I was bringing back lunch from the Chinese restaurant next door. One of the bailiffs was on the elevator with me.

He asked about my lunch. It was Chinese.

Bailiff: I don’t trust Those People!

Me: {Names of restaurant owners} are nice!

Bailiff: *interrupting* That’s just me, I’m old.

Bailiff: I don’t trust Those People! They opened their business but THEY aren’t sick!

Me: *exit elevator*

Bailiff: MEOW

Me: You racist asshole!

Trump wants to ban TikTok despite MicroSoft’s offer to buy it. In other words, it’s not about the Chinese ownership and possible risks that poses, because Microsoft offered to solve that issue with the platform.

No, it is about what TikTok is and does. It has attracted young people who use the platform to organize against him.

It is about Fascism.

Saw this on the bird site. When a Federalist Society founder (Calabresi) says Trump’s threat to postpone the election is fascist, and he should be impeached and removed from office .... wow. WOW!
