Yes, I have a smallpox vaccine scar too. Amazing that that disease was eradicated. But with our current anti-vaxxer movement, the likelihood of eradicating any others is nil.

Me too. Had chicken pox prior to there being a vaccine. Had it as a young adult. I didn’t get the Rubella vaccine until I was an adult, when I was pregnant.

The advent of more vaccines has been a blessing. An uncle didn’t survive childhood due to a now-preventable childhood disease.

Anti-science loons anger me. It is child abuse, to refuse to vaccinate. But because anti-vaxxers are mostly white and mid/upper class, society coddles them.

If Canada were ever to allow me to immigrate (which it won’t due to my being a cancer survivor), I would live in B.C. I spent some time in and around Victoria, years ago. OMG, stunningly beautiful.

Although, maybe Alberta. I spent some time in Alberta late last winter. It’s gorgeous too. Colder, but gorgeous. 💙

Well, I was going by what I read on CDC website on the measles vaccination. I am not an MD, just a JD who reads and reads and reads. 😸

Many (not all) diseases confer a lifelong immunity once you’ve had the actual disease. I suspect you’re fine on the measles unless you have any condition which has compromised your immune system. When in doubt, ask an MD. 🖖

If you don’t know your vaccination status, remembering only one shot, then you probably ought to get vaccinated, particularly if you live in an outbreak area.

Being a criminal defense attorney, I tend to look at such things and then try to envision how they will be used nefariously.

We didn’t go tiny, but we did go small. The Great Recession hit us hard. Our solution was to

1) move for better income opportunities

and

2) significantly downsize

Our home is about half the size of our previous home. But it is more affordable to heat (or cool), maintain, etc.

Small is beautiful.

Bonus? It will be a good place for us to live in retirement, which is just around the bend.
