Do you have hummingbirds overwinter in your area? Ours migrate south for the winter. I 💜 hummingbirds. I have honeysuckle vines growing up the sides of the front porch to attract the beautiful little birds up close.

@Jennifelroy

IKR?

Maybe the producer was too young to even know about it.

@Jennifelroy

Agreed. Last week there was something on TV about great SB commercials of the past and cat herding wasn’t mentioned! I was shocked and mentioned to DH that they left out the best. He’d not seen it, so I found it for him. He got a good laugh.

The danger of Bolton, he MUST be stopped...

Why is Bolton against these nuclear security treaties that Republicans and Democrats, conservatives and liberals, have championed? Because he thinks they make America weak. In 1999, he decried the liberal “fascination with arms-control agreements as a substitute for real non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.” A year later, he ridiculed “the Church of Arms Control.”

Good morning CoSo! Looking forward to a warmer day. I am hoping for relaxation and maybe a hike.

Oh, and watching the Cat Bowl. And also a bit of the Super Bowl. And guacamole!

@yogapaddlerun

Our cat knocked over the parakeet cage one time, and tried to kill the parakeet when they were in the same room together. I had to put the cat in another room and close the door to have the parakeet out of her cage safely. That cat was a very accomplished huntress. I am sure a cat with a lower prey drive might co-exist more peaceably with a bird.

@mushrj

Yes, they are messy!

It’s also challenging to keep birds and cats in the same household, although it can be done (I managed, although I had a few close calls).

I love birds. I grew up with a parakeet and had a cockatiel when I was young.

Nowadays the only domesticated birds I have are chickens. Mine are quite tame and enjoy a good scratch when I pick them up.

I feed wild birds and garden to attract them. I love watching them.

House birds can be fun, but the noise can be intense, especially with the bigger exotics.

ALMOST everyone here was inside during this recent polar vortex. The windchill was between -40*F and -50*F. The horse, however, left his barn and feed and went up the hill INTO the wind to eat in the pasture. Hardy creatures! But he had a choice of where to be.

The chickens also had a choice. They had a heat lamp in their hen house. They peeked out their sally port and decided that the weather was too unpleasant. Almost all of them chose to stay inside.

@catlynne333

Lol!

Yeah, really. We’re just eyeballs, not worthy of responses!

😸

@catlynne333

😸

That’s what many people use social media for. But some just want a platform to post and don’t interact with others much. They post on social media to get more eyeballs than a blog, but use it similarly to a blog.

@catlynne333

Me too. That’s one reason I like CoSo. Conversation vs being trolled or memed

@catlynne333

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I suppose they shut off their notifications because they aren’t interested in socializing or discussion?

@missmesss75

My SIL’s mom died of PC. Between diagnosis and death it was ... maybe 3 months, iirc. She was active, working, seemingly the picture of health. And then she got a bit sick while on vacation and decided to get checked out when she got back home. She was gone so quickly. Terrifying.

@WeThePeople

It’s about time!

Many years ago I founded a Boy Scout troop in a small town, and we were multi-cultural and multi-faith. We also did at least one outdoor adventure per month.

We let families go along on camping trips, and had several sisters who preferred our troop to the local Girl Scout troop. The GS’s planned shopping trips to big cities when we went canoeing in the Boundary Waters. 🙄

Several girls asked if they could join. They need to modify their name to Scouts.

@MrsBentoBako

LOL!

Someone else likes to do that too! I let the ’s staff know my thoughts on a regular basis. His polls for supporters are the best! 😹

@bluesbaby

I still watch the Bears occasionally. I am no longer much of a football fan, though. Every time I see a brutal hit, I think of TBI in former players. Makes it harder and harder to watch it anymore.

That said, I am sure we will watch the Super Bowl, and I am headed to the store to get avocados (47 cents each at ALDI’s) to make guacamole for game watching.
