@Airborne_Frog

Apt?

I have been telling my DH that the wall, if built, will end up being used to help prevent us from fleeing.

@kaehlys

Love a gas cooktop. I've been through 2 week + power outages before (post tornado was a really long outtage in late winter, when you don't want to be without warm food).

@AvaSpeaksUp

Yeah. We don't talk about our guns. I don't want to be targeted for thefts. Though in my area guns are the norm

And while people can potentially see some of our gardens and orchard through our fence, I don't really broadcast how much food production or storage we have.

I expect family to come here if the shit hits the fan. We prep for that.

@AvaSpeaksUp

His son has been facing imminent indictment for months. Those rumors are bot new.

As to the limits, I don't know off hand. Your bank should be able to tell you.

@AvaSpeaksUp

There are a lot of us, actually. We just don't tend to hang out on the survivalist sites like the Cult members. 😸

@AvaSpeaksUp

My take on this crisis, as on all others, is to remain hopeful but to be as prepared as possible for all contingencies.

I am an odd duck, I suppose. I am a prepper; I am liberal. I was raised that way. We were always ready for winter, for big storms, etc. We raised much of our food.

If you are ready for the zombie apocalypse, you are ready for anything. Then you hope you never NEED any of it (especially the defense items). 😎

I never discourage anyone from prudent prepping.

@AvaSpeaksUp

There is a limit on the amount of cash you can get with no notice to the bank. But taking out at least some money today might be prudent.

I doubt we go full out marshal law tonight. He has been incrementally moving toward fascism. I think it would be out of character for him to make such a giant leap without first feeling out the military - would they support him, violating their oaths?

My active duty service family does NOT support his fascism.

I remain cautiously optimistic.

@SteppinRazor

That rumor has been floating about on Twitter for a couple of months. I am sure the entire is concerned about indictments. That is likely an unspoken reason for the govt shutdown

@ucantstop_me

It depends. In legal, banking, education, etc. settings visible tattoos are still not generally accepted. If you want a professional job, a visible tattoo is inadvisable.

Tattoos are generally accepted in construction trades, although those trades that involve going to people’s homes generally don’t hire people with visible tattoos, as there is still some prejudice amongst the public.

If you run a tattoo parlor, go ahead, the more good quality visible tattoos the better.

@WeThePeople

😮

Perhaps I am alone in this, but I have never taken Uber. I am bot comfortable with the idea of a ride from a complete UNVETTED stranger. At least with a cabbie, there are licensing and vetting requirements and they are highly regulated. Uber has no such protections. And this is not the first horror story I've heard involving Uber

Monday.

Nooooooooooo.

But here it is. Can’t run. Can’t hide. 👀

Have to make the best of it.

Have a good one.

It will be better after more ☕️

@Ac2alLivingScientist

Lol - yes, I am also lying here quietly, trying not to wake everyone up. I should be asleep too. 💤

They have a suspect in the Jazmine Barnes shooting.

They are saying that the family car may have been targeted by mistake. They are still investigating whether other suspects were involved.

Good morning CoSo!

Happy Saturday!

Much to do today, but first, coffee. I am on my 3rd cup! We’ve had it this morning with a simple breakfast of toast with butter and honey along with orange slices.

☕️

Hope your day is a great one.

@th3j35t3r

Of course he is. This is how he plans to deal with the many court cases looming over him - don’t fund the courts.

@MountainMan

It also happens post-partum. A young mother and colleague collapsed and died from a DVT embolism when she came to the office to show off her new twins. 😿

DVTs are scary.

I had a DVT in my early 20’s, at 8 months pregnant, and spent the last weeks of my pregnancy in the hospital. They were talking heart lung machine to keep my body functioning for my baby. Each morning they came to my room in a macabre death watch. I survived.

It can happen at any stage of life, but when it happens, it gives you a new appreciation for life, and an understanding of its precarious fragility.

Today is a gift of the present. Treasure it.

(And so glad we both survived.)
