Tornado Risk in the Mid-Atlantic
Strong to severe storms could impact the DMV today, with potential for a tornado or two and damaging winds. Meteorologist Erica Lopez has an update.
Starting around 1830Z, there is a wide-ranging NWS outage of NEXRAD level III products. Products are missing from our MyRadar usual upstream sources and from AWS. This may be related to a NOAAPORT uplink test that started around that same time. We are continuing to monitor, but, unfortunately, there isn't much we can do.
Maybe coincidentally, there is also an outage of MRMS-based lightning data. That outage also started around 1830Z.
