Hubby asks me: Google how long Venison can be in the freezer, please.
Me: Says here 9 to 12 mos. Why?
H: I have in the freezer.. but it's been like 2 yrs.
Me: Throw. It. Out.
H: But my friend Gary says he has kept his for 2 or 3 yrs and he eats it..
Me: I will not. You can, if you choose. Your insurance is paid up. I'm good.
H: Why do we do this??
Me: Cuz I have a husband that won't throw things away when it needs to be tossed.

@MrsE0113 At best, it would be freezer burned, so def not fit to eat as you normally would, but I'd happily make soup stock with it (unless it had thawed out at some point, e.g. a long power outage).
We've been through this with wild salmon a time or two.
