I want the railroad workers to live free and be able to express their feelings. If they’re so critical to commerce, fucking pay them. The freedom to strike should NEVER be constrained. Air traffic control, medical care, fire departments- anything.
@MississippiGoneCoastal I’m like minded- I suppose I’m factoring all manner of compensation into a lump value. Days off and the work/life balance stuff are every bit as important as cash. :)

It's not about the pay. They need to be able to take days off for things like illness, birth of a child, funerals, etc. and they are not allowed to unless it's scheduled way in advance. They can be fired for taking a sick day. I want for them not to strike because I don't want shortages again but no one should have the ability to stop them.
