Current state of transition from Twitter to a new social media platform: Mastodon is out as CoSo appears to be a better use of the source code so far and I hate Mastodon’s distributed server idea. Hive appears to be fundamentally broken ATM (which may improve if they can hire more devs). I’m on the Post.news waitlist but that really seems to be very journalism centric - which isn’t a bad thing just not really the kind of alternative to Twitter I’m looking for.

You guys, Elon Musk bought Twitter fair & square and has every right to use it to prove to the world that he’s a greedy dumbass petty unfunny uncreative thin-skinned fascist manbaby tyrant who’s just making it all up as he goes along.

Waiting for some random actual cover up regarding Musk to come up, so that we can all enjoy "Elongate."

It would be the first one since Watergate that actually made sense.

The United Nations has joined the European Union in condemning Twitter's decision to suspend some journalists who cover the social media firm. The UN tweeted that media freedom is "not a toy" while the EU has threatened Twitter with sanctions. Melissa Fleming, the UN's under secretary general for global communications, said she was "deeply disturbed" by reports that journalists were being "arbitrarily" suspended from Twitter.
