Imagine leaving a job you love with the promise of another job you feel even more passionate about, watching as they backfill your old position, and then finding out during your orientation meeting with the new boss that they don't want you for the new job, even though you're perfect for it. That just happened to Henry Cavill. Left "The Witcher" to focus on playing Superman, and then James Gunn said "Nah, we don't need you. We're making young Superman."
HARD PASS, JAMES.
#superman #henrycavill
Three words spring quickly to mind:
Breach of contract.
I hope Cavill has grounds to sue.
@MisterFoxGuy I felt so bad for him when I heard this. Lost two great roles due to "creative differences." Here's hoping there's bigger & better waiting for him. ❤️
@MisterFoxGuy And this is why DC will never beat Marvel at the box office. Henry Cavill IS Superman. No one wants to see a young Clark Kent doing the whole reporter thing. It’s a hard pass from me as well.
@K8Thom @MisterFoxGuy They make great tv, but their film division is the absolute worst. I only watched the recent ones for Cavill specifically. 🤷♀️
@MisterFoxGuy DC hasn't learned that you can't do your planning and plotting out in front of the world on soc media. They're still chasing distant fires. By my count, they're 7-course corrections in just since like 2016, probably more. The flailing doesn't do the actors, characters, stories, or fans justice.
