@th3j35t3r bootstrapping this CoSo community is noble. But all of us should pitch in whatever we can, either one-time or monthly, so itβs not all on his back to carry us. Donating via DonorBox is easy to do: https://donorbox.org/countersocial

My brother is going to be okay π₯Ή
His friend was able to get gas and get over to my brothers house to assess tree blockage yesterday, his long drive is doable on foot.
His friend is heading over now to bring him food and water. π₯²
GA Power ETA for power is 10/5, next Sat. His friend thinks it will be sooner π€
Thank you All for having my family in your hearts, it lightens my fears to know that you all are here for everyone that needs a little help.

Miss Lucy Lou wanted to come to work with me today. Can't do that, sorry pup. You are too energetic.
She was not happy.

The actions you should take? Go to your state elections Web site and check your voter registration for correct information -- it's much easier to fix before Election Day. If you need help, got to your local public library.
Do your own research -- read the candidate platforms, listen to the interviews with candidates.
Then make a plan to vote -- early, absentee, or day of the election -- to fulfill your civic duty.
I look forward to seeing you at the polls.
Save this post to remind you.

I am an election official.
I'm the granddaughter of two Registrar of Voters.
Election officials are your friends and neighbors; we struggle to keep deer out of our gardens, we coach your children's teams, volunteer at the senior center, grouse about tax rates, and sit across the aisle from you at Church.
Election officials take their responsibilities very seriously.
If someone tells you masses of people are voting illegally, they are lying.

As devastating as the water will be on the Florida Panhandle, keep an eye on TN between Chattanooga and Knoxvile. You have no idea what a foot of rain can do in the mountains.
Camille's death toll in 1969 was highest in Harrison County, MS, but second highest was in Rockbridge/Nelson/Amherst counties in the Blue Ridge of Virginia. The storms get stuck on the mountains and rain themselves out.
Trying to make peace with having to pivot from being a librarian concerned with outreach to a librarian concerned with digitization. The first feeds my soul. The second is vitally important and I believe in it, but there is no joy for me being a project manager.
I will find my way, and then I will be back as a more active community member. Thank you for your patience.

This week #InTheLibrary, collections are returning from scanning, and leaving to be scanned.
The rest of the Marshall photo collection, was digitized thanks in part to the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation. I'm excited to have it "home!"
The James A. Van Fleet collection is leaving to be scanned, paid for by the Van Fleet Foundation. Thanks to BackStage Library Works for being our partner in these efforts and to Ian for doing the heavy lifting.
