Russian forces have destroyed several ancient Ukrainian burial mounds in Zaporizhshia, in the southeastern part of Ukraine, according to a September 04 report by the Conflict Observatory, which uses satellite imagery to track damage to cultural heritage. The burial mounds are called kurgans and are located in an area known as the Wild Fields, which contains thousands of these archaeological sites, measuring up to 65 feet in height.
