Even if drugs were legalized or decriminalized I would never try heroin. Or Meth. I know and have seen the damage these drugs do to a persons health. But it would be nice if codeine was OTC like it is in Canada. I would not have to go to the doctor and be urine drug screened every 90 days so I can get my codeine sulfate for osteoarthritis and degenerative disk disease.

@MallyDaKatt 🇨🇦 here, T3s are acetaminophen/codeine based and need a prescription here. It depends on the dosage of codeine and we are pursuing regulatory changes that will require even low dose codeine to be prescription only.

I heard about the possible change. The OTC there are 8mg. But besides the acetaminophen/caffeine/codeine versions there are Methacarbomol/codeine versions. That works for me unless pain gets to a certain level and I need the 30mg codeine.
Codeine sulfate is just 30mg codeine, no acetaminophen. If I need to, then I take Tylenol.
I just hate having to sneak the OTC version back over the border.
And besides, prohibition does not work. Just creates criminals
