🎧 Current Listen: Sibelius, "Symphonies 1 & 5". Isolationist music for walks across a sweeping frozen tundra. #Cosomusic #MPNP
🎧 Current listen: Art Blakey, "Like Someone In Love". Wordless music today. Words are meaningless right now. #Cosomusic #MPNP
🎧 Current listen: Manic Street Preachers, “Postcards From A Young Man”. Another band that makes me wish I was Welsh. #Cosomusic #MPNP
🎧 Current listen: My Sleeping Karma, "Moksha". It's never too early in the day for trippy Psych/Space rock from Germany. Right @LisaHope ?
#Cosomusic #MPNP
🎧 Current listen: Anekdoten, "From Within". Why NOT a little heavy Swedish prog to start the day?? #Cosomusic #MPNP
🎧 Current listen: Gary Baartz, Adrian Younge, Ali Shaheed Muhammed, "Jazz Is Dead 6". Master jazz sax player Baartz teams with hip-hop producer Younge and Tribe Called Quest founder Muhammed for the most recent JID collab. It's a good one, Baartz is playing some killer lines for a man of 81, and the music never ventures too far into either extreme. Great stuff. Good article on the album here:

Current listen: Tears For Fears, "The Tipping Point". Yeah, call it a comeback. IMHO it's neck and neck with "Seeds of Love" for their best record. #Cosomusic #MPNP
🎧 The Clash, "Combat Rock - The People's Hall". I usually don't go in for re-masters (I think they are mostly a money grab and don't enhance the listening experience). Combat Rock is a BIG record for me. I saw them open for The Who at the ridiculous Shea Stadium show in 1982. The Who were anemic, but The Clash, in their battle fatigues (and battling fatigue) played like they were in a small club (that's my memory anyway). Long live The Clash. #Cosomusic
🎧 Gabi Garbutt, "Cockerel". New release from London-based indie-pop artist. Air-brushed with just a dusting of ska horns, think Paul Weller hanging out with Jenny Lewis. Superb upbeat guitar based pop with twisting lyrics. "Here we are again travailing the arteries of innocence." Nice. #Cosomusic
🎧 Mavis Staples & Levon Helm, “Carry Me Home”. Recorded at one of Helm’s famous Midnight Rambles in 2011. Levon (who doesn’t sing much here due to his illness) and Mavis (who is in her element and raises the roof) put on a sermon that is joyous and timeless. Try NOT to move some part of your body during “Hand Writing on the Wall”. Recording sounds fantastic, you’re in the room. #Cosomusic
🎧 The Dear Hunter, "Act V: Hymns With The Devil in Confession". Casey Crescenzo's ever evolving prog-emo magnum opus. Will we EVER get Part VI?? Exciting and complex, but never cold or unemotional. #Cosomusic #Cosoprog
With apologies to the deathcore, grindcore, and djent aficionados here, no offense intended.
“Wanna go to a music festival?”
“Who’s playing?”
“Gross Load”
“Who else”
“…………uhhhhhh”
🎧 Shpongle, "Ineffable Mysteries..." I had ACL surgery many years ago and had a codeine drip for about a week for the post-op pain. Between the discomfort of trying to sleep sitting upright and the drugs, I couldn't sleep at all the first night. I searched "music for codeine" and Shpongle came up. Sooooo trippy. #Cosomusic
🎧 Rosie Tucker, "Sucker Supreme". Rosie is an awesome indie rock artist from LA. Their songs are full of sharp witty lyrics and hummable melodies. Great songwriting. One of my favorite albums from 2021. Check them out! #Cosomusic #cosoindie
🎧 Bonobo, "Days To Come". Great album overall but the tracks with vocals by Bajka are stand-outs. "Well we can't change the world / But we can change the way we live"

#Cosomusic If you're an album oriented person like me, the more prevalent music apps are sometimes a little frustrating, especially when it comes to curating large libraries and managing album-based playlists on mobile devices. i highly recommend an app called "Albums" which is available for iOS (I don't know about Android). It works with your Apple music library to provide a more fluid album listening experience. Features galore. Happy listening!
🎧 Poster Children, "Grand Bargain".
"Kleptocracy
Rule by thieves
To use the mechanism of government
To enrich oneself
At the expense of the greater good".
🎧 Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, “Pretty Good For A Girl Band”. I make no apologies about my affinity for the new wave of pop-punk. I can’t just settle into the music that I am “supposed to” listen to at my age. I need my rock and roll. RIYL: The Gully Boys, Vial, The Beaches. #Cosomusic
