Today could be a "big day" for those of us invested in seeing held accountable. We could see a verdict in NY, and a SCOTUS decision on immunity. Lets all breathe. The news may not be encouraging and the noise generated from that might be further discouraging. Just remember that your life is still your life and only you control your emotions. Get angry if you want. Shake your fists. Voice your displeasure. Don't let anyone tell you your feelings aren't valid. They are. Good luck.

Is it, though?

I've never told anyone that their unmoored emotions were "invalid", just that they're unhelpful, they do nothing to improve anything, and ultimately that indulging your own rage is — as the Buddha pointed out — like drinking poison to "get back" at someone you're upset with.

The thing about getting angry is that it's enjoyable. You start looking for excuses to become outraged.
