🎧 Various Artists, "Soul Love Now: The Black Fire Records Story, 1975-1993". Compilation of recordings from the very-independent Washington DC based label, founded by Howard Uni DJ Jimmy "Black Fire" Gray and local musician James Branch. There's a great NYT article linked below (no paywall) about the album and the label. One of my favorite collections. It's available on Bandcamp.
