🎧 Mahalia Jackson, "Make A Joyful Noise Unto the Lord". The original MJ refused Columbia Records attempts to make her repertoire palpable to white people, instead convincing white people to hear her gospel and leaving them wanting more. There is something about this particular 1963 album, the way the choir is split in the stereo spread to truly surround you, the piano hits a little harder, it just all comes together perfectly. Great selection of songs too. All Hail Mahalia.
