Starting a multiweek health reset tonight, from now 'til birthday o'clock.

Lots to finish by year's end, but this season is always rough for me. Just tons of bad memories that like to say howdy.

Locals always ask about family, too, because their Navidads are joyous times, and that often involves hashing out how estranged my kin are. So--hunkering down, finishing the novel, and resetting mentally and physically is best.

And Die Hard on Dec 25, of course. 🎅

Sheesh, I'm not an *utter* Grinch. 🙃

Life's too short, mi gente - and horrifically filled with people who do *so much* to make everything harder than it ever need be for the rest of us.

If you're not hurting anyone, and you think it might even help...

Ok so NOW I feel like I'm home.
For those unaware, in the early years of I was going through some really rough stuff.
Cosonauts, unknown to me, shared messages with @apsuche who collated them and sent them to me in a .
You can't imagine the joy I felt! I framed them all, and since then, they have lived in where I see them every day.
It's now back in its rightful place after the redecoration.

75 years ago, our species did something incredible.

We tried to codify aspects of our condition as universal: to say that everyone - no matter your nationality, creed, age, sex, racialized ethnicity - deserved access to the same fundamentals.

We have *never* lived up to the promise of the UN Declaration of Human Rights.

Not ever.

We spend more time defending why X doesn't deserve Y.

We don't have to - but we do.

What would the next 25 years look like if we didn't?

😅 Today, because I've been so busy this past week, my street vendor friend wouldn't let me leave until we'd finished three crosswords. Well! Definitely got my Spanish practice in. Going to sit with a Spanish book and a nice cuppa for an hour or so, before getting on to today's main work.

Still have my mild stalker, alack. 4 months with zero feedback from me, and I still get VMs like I must've accidentally forgotten to call him back. Wanna take bets on when he finally stops trying new numbers? 🙃

Morning CoSo! ☕

Time to get to it! Let's see what I'm wrong about today. 👀😊

A gift I worked hard to give myself is the ability to be curious when I'm wrong.

As a kid and young adult, perfectionism was key. Mistakes could be used against you for years.

But to be at a place where, when I encounter intel that changes my perspective, I'm more interested in what brought me to my misapprehension, and excited to see what follows from a changed data set?

What a great feeling.

Empirical thinking follows the evidence, always.

It just has to bridge our silly egos first.

Today is Human Rights Day and marks the 75th anniversary of one of the most cooperative and ground breaking actions we have taken as a society, the signing of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

We make a good team, team.

We have folks with all manner of life experience here, across many behavioural and demographic spectrums.

The stories we tell about ourselves, and the hardships we endure, don't all match up perfectly - but that's kind of the wild gift of CoSo, isn't it?

If the edges don't match elsewhere, there's often heck to pay. (J'accuse!)

But if they don't match here? We accept that someone else's journey is not our own, and abide... or use the tools.

Such rocket science! 🚀

I never feel more like a creepy dude on the street than when I rubberneck and circle back to whistle at a well maintained beaut. 😅 And yes, I checked the curves from all angles, as one does.

This time of year can bring you in contact with folks you otherwise don’t see much. If you can, give folks who are “bad at staying in touch” an extra close look.

Listen for what they’re not saying.
Watch for the silent sinkers.

I spent last evening catching up with an old friend—first time meeting in person in more than a year. Things were darker for them than I understood.

Cats herded. Two hours of main work left - but I have not fed the meat sack today, and meat sacks can get weird about that.

Time for an Ologies podcast while I pop off to acquire the requisite parts. 👌🏻

I'm leading a meeting in under an hour - the kind where I know I'll be herding cats because of the different personalities involved - but I'm so tired/wired right now that I kept wondering why I hadn't made coffee yet, to be sharper for it...

And yet, lo and behold, when I finally pried myself away from my prep tasks... three guesses what was waiting on the counter for me, stone cold? 😂

Good effort, Early Morning ML. You tried.
