I feel terrible for everyday folks in Alabama today. (Just caught up on news out of the state, re: embryos now being "minor children" for lawsuit purposes.)
It's so easy to say "Alabama is a backwater, a lost cause", but most people there are just trying to get by, and there's so little hope right now of them being able to defend against the awful few striving to make the lives of women, families, and queer people even harder.
We could have built *such* a kinder world.

These last few years have been a reminder that progress is often a meandering path and not a guaranteed and constant ascension.
Things will come around again.
I know you're fully aware, Becca, that many people won't survive to see those things come around again - but I also 100% understand what you're leaning into, with respect to hope in rough times. It's a courageous thing, to hope for better even when everything is currently going in so many difficult directions. 🤗 I'm glad today isn't a day of despair for you. May it be a beautiful one instead.

We should make that happen.
@MLClark @AskTheDevil Many people will not survive this time of tumult. We all have our day where we will cross our far horizon. I cannot be certain that I will be a survivor of these times.
If that is what is fated I will go with my head held high, knowing in the end, the dawn will come for others, even if it does not come for myself.
It is a reminder for me to cherish these moments of peace, even though I can hear the thunder and scent the storm on the winds.
