@evamarie I think the problem is farming practices, not the foods themselves. For examples, there have been studies done on local pasture raised cattle farms, and they have zero impact on the environment, at worst. The grass in the pastures absorbs and uses all the methane and carbon dioxide the cows emit, then more grass grows and provides oxygen for the environment and food for the cows. I imagine it’s the same for chocolate. The farming practices have to be sound, sustainable, and fair.

Great point. Maybe we have to modify farming practices to off set carbon release.
