There is a lot to unpack in this post, and a great synopsis of it is captured in this paragraph regarding remote/distance learning

"Definitive answers are hard to come by, and national data on student learning is virtually nonexistent. But more than a dozen national surveys of teachers, parents, students, and school administrators conducted over the past few months offer the clearest initial tally of successes and failures."

Good Morning
Over the past week I've posed some questions regarding the school lock downs, the quarantines, and the effects people have been witnessing. Over the next few days, I will be posting studies & articles on what is occurring and not occurring during the remote learning process. Some students will absolutely thrive in this environment and this article details that, but the other two I will be posting shows a very different picture. Here's the first one

@LibertySpeaks The poor who may not have a computer nor the internet will be left so far behind their class mates. It's a real tragedy in the making.

Regarding remote learning and achievement this article is a very good source on the numbers and what still is lacking:

Here is the key take away

"The Covid-19 pandemic is arguably the largest disruption America’s K–12 education system has ever faced. For students, this disruption—and the differences in districts’ response to it—will harm academic achievement and likely exacerbate longstanding achievement gaps".

Good morning I wanted to share a couple posts this morning. One is regarding remote learning and the other is regarding the potential problems that are arising from this. Here is the first one.

There is a method to my madness BTW

Good Morning
The last poll I did was regarding home schooling. 3 polls (including the duplicate poll here) had between 66%-73% participants saying they will home school, or saying they would if they could and not an option right now. Yesterday I touched on the broad band capabilities across the nation. The article below touches on that. I will also be linking another post later.

Ok, I'm going to be posting an article or two over the next few days that tie into the polls I've conducted. Regarding kids, homeschooling, etc. Hope you guys enjoy the debates

@corlin
Good point. Home schooling is simply not an option for low income and/or single-parent households without significant outside supports.

Trends like this concern me, because they further inequalities in our education system.

@LibertySpeaks

not sure what happened, but had to repost the poll

Many parents are now considering the option of home school. In May the number was 40% and that rose to 60% in July. Those numbers are higher than they have ever been. I am linking both the May and July articles and also including another poll as well.

Here is the poll. After the lockdowns lift what will your choice be for your kids. If you don't have children give me your thoughts in the replies

This worked out well for both polls I conducted here and on Twitter. 20 people each. Identical questions and time-frame.
Over the weekend I'll be doing a couple more, and asking specific questions

Both IRL & Online I am hearing from friends who are seeing noticeable differences in their child's/children's personality and behaviors. Since the quarantines, school closures & social distancing began. So its time for a poll. This is mainly for parents, but also people who are around kids as well. Reply's are appreciated.

QUESTION: What effects are you seeing with the children?

Please boost for more participation.

So I'm Marsden again? LMFAO
Louise Mensch is once again LARPING Trelawney I see. Must have been so hard for her when the Wizarding World of Harry Potter was shut down for so long. I wanna tell her its ok, we all know quarantines is a bitch
Back story for those who may not know. @th3j35t3r and a few others here have been dealing with this for a while now
