Both IRL & Online I am hearing from friends who are seeing noticeable differences in their child's/children's personality and behaviors. Since the quarantines, school closures & social distancing began. So its time for a poll. This is mainly for parents, but also people who are around kids as well. Reply's are appreciated.

QUESTION: What effects are you seeing with the children?

@LibertySpeaks
The primary effects I'm seeing stem from stress of worrying about family and friends getting sick, and not having direct face-to-face active personal contact and playtime with kids her age. But she is getting a lot of "face-to-face" time with friends and virtual camp-mates on zoom, etc - which helps immensely.
She's clingy, easily bursts into tears, is more possessive of what she has, and is adopting every wild thing she finds in the yard.

@LibertySpeaks seeing some social regression, signs of stress/anxiety etc.

@LibertySpeaks some stress and anxiety, but mainly just annoyance at not being able to go to certain places, and partly hidden joy at being able to sneak more screen time.

@LibertySpeaks I chose Other because I’ve seen both positive and negative effects.

@Kalos @LibertySpeaks
Same here.

As a teacher, not a parent:

Positives: greater creativity, collaboration, empathy

Negatives: stress and fear of they or family getting the virus, lack of motivation

I'm very upset with the position of AAP that the benefits far outweigh the risks of returning to in-person school. I want students and their families to stay alive.
