Walt Nauta's new lawyer is going to regret ever getting involved in this mishigas.

@LiberalLibrarian somebody once asked me why lawyers represent people who are clearly guilty of crimes. And the response from the criminal bar is that constitutional protections for all individuals are more important then whether the lawyer wants to represent that one individual. It really depends on how far that attorney is willing to go down the rabbit hole.

@J_Windrow All true, and we all "hate" lawyers until we need one. But oh boy, a personal injury lawyer is going to get eaten alive by federal prosecutors.

@LiberalLibrarian he probably will get eaten alive by the federal prosecutors. What he’s going to try and do is work out a plea agreement. And he’s going to look to other members of his firm to help him. Because somebody in his firm will have some criminal law experience. The fact that I had to go that far down means that they were absolutely desperate to get anybody.

@LiberalLibrarian believe me, when I practice law, I hated some of the people in the business too. Once upon a time I was working with somebody and the situation was so terrible that I became an undercover informant for the board of bar overseers The guy almost lost his license. I was pissed he didn’t lose his license. To this day I loathe that man.

@LiberalLibrarian i poked around a little bit and the attorney used to work in criminal law agency in Florida. That being said, the only reason they need him is because the main attorney is pro hac vice.
