Kiddo asked me today what would happen if we woke up tomorrow and everyone had magic. And, sadly, the answer is that we'd probably not notice in a year or two.
We trapped winter in a box to make a fridge. We have fractured sunlight and tame lightning we control with a flick of our finger. We all carry a box of magic rocks that can communicate with people across the world.
We have magic. We use it every day. And we think it's ordinary.

We already have magic! We just see it as ordinary.
@LianaBrooks To me, the period of time that I had to bang rocks together and walk everywhere is still much more "real" than this period of marvelous contraptions.
Every time I push the button on the microwave, it's a miracle.
@AskTheDevil I have ADHD and my memory is all a blur at this point. I remember hand washing things and cold mountain cabins. I also have a smartphone and almost forget cellphones without wifi existed.
@LianaBrooks I still keep trying to just remember things instead of looking them up!
I have convinced myself that glass is not expensive to make and does not need to be hoarded.
