Melania, Ivanka, Jared, Pence, the list goes on and on. There's been a whole slew of people sold to us as appealing to Trump's better angels and every single one of them (unsurprisingly) turns out just as bad as he is.

Hey, if y'all are looking for some candidates to support my good friend and former Governor candidate Zach Moses released his first endorsement slate, these are some great candidates!

Gotta give Mittens credit, didn't think he'd just come right out and say "We're doing this cuz Trump is a republican," figured he'd say it in fancier verbiage.

As if there isn't enough nonsense happening. Republican Senators, including our own loathsome Senator Mike Lee, are glibly walking back their denial of Merrick Garland and happily giving Americans a hearty fuck you during the worst economic crisis since the last one.

Absolutely thrilled to get to vote for Kael Weston in November. Kael will make an exceptional representative for CD2 and can actually win this district. He's going to need help though, if we want to beat Stewart we're all gonna need to pitch in!

Looks like Rep. Chris Stewart is real scared of Kael Weston getting support from VoteVets. Either that or he doesn't think that Kael is worthy of it because he was only part of the State Department when he was under fire in Afghanistan and Iraq.

"The complaint details several accounts from detainees, including one woman who was not properly anesthetized during the procedure and heard the aforementioned doctor tell the nurse he had mistakenly removed the wrong ovary, resulting in her losing all reproductive ability."

This uh... This sounds terrifyingly like some sterilization shit y'all.

Again, Operation Rio Grande 2: Electric Boogaloo was just Rio Grande again but with the bare minimum of effort to pretend it wasn't just about harassing the homeless.

sltrib.com/news/politics/2020/

Again, SLCPD showing that it absolutely is a completely broken institution that needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever for an officer to have felt threatened enough by a 13 year old to necessitate discharging their weapon.

Mayor Mendenhall's plan really reads as "Operation Rio Grande II: But this time we're going to be a little nicer." Which, again, is an improvement in some way but driving a homeless population out a la Operation Rio Grande does not work. All it does is give SLCPD more room to harass the homeless and then pushes the homeless out into other parts of the city that are just as ill equipped to handle them.

Alexei Navalny, largely seen as the opposition leader to Putin, was poisoned with Novichok last week and is currently in a coma. Novichok is the preferred method of assassination by Russia's GRU, it was also used in an attempted assassination of Sergei Skripal (an ex Russian spy).

A prominent anti-Putin student organizer, Egor Zhukhov, was also beaten outside of his house badly enough to require hospitalization. It sure looks like Putin is attempting to clean house.

It is completely and utterly baffling to me that this is even close. Look, I like @joekennedy he seems nice. However, @EdMarkey is the far superior candidate by leagues. Dude has been on the right side of the debate way more often than not. Donate to Ed, help him keep his seat.

Update on the paint saga:

Salt Lake County DA Sim Gill is charging protestors would dumped paint at his office with felonies that could result in life inprisonment and now Salt Lake City PD is investigating a State Senator because he donated to a fund that may have been used to buy said paint.

deseret.com/platform/amp/utah/

How many times do we have to accept the excuse of "Oops, looks like SLCPD assaulted/murdered someone. We'll make sure it doesn't happen again." until it's safe to draw the conclusion that SLCPD is a deeply flawed and broken institution that needs to be completely gutted?

sltrib.com/news/2020/08/12/sal

Regardless of thoughts on whether Kamala Harris will be good or not. I think we can all breathe a sigh of relief that it wasn't Tulsi Gabbard or Dan Lipinski that ended up getting it. Take a win where ya can find it.

There it is folks. If you are protesting Salt Lake DA Sim Gill then you are part of a gang and they will gladly slap you with charges that could warrant life inprisonment because of it. Absolutely and completely irresponsible, irreprehensible, and abhorrent. Are we as a society, okay with protestors serving life in prison and being labeled as gang members because the DA's office was painted red?
