@th3j35t3r the day after the debate, CNN had some real foxnewsian chyrons.

So tonight everyone but those neighbors are going off (as he types they have have just started an encore), but the gathering went well. Left at the perfect time. Felt social fuse hit when I got home, about a 15 minute latency. And I felt tired not long after so I can control being awake better as my neighbor devolves into a warzone (it's friggin smokey!). Also didn't have to drive around people setting stuff off-always a plus!

Still the best movie about the Revolution.

HAPPY FREEDOM DAY

The satiation is real tonight. Happy 3rd because many can sleep in on the 4th(?/!)

I feel like the neighbors going off tonight won't be pulling a two nighter (and tonight will be hard for anyone to top), so....

When you don't like being social and your wife tells you July 4th festivities have gone from five to ten plus including her sister's friends (because she is hosting).

They are all very nice people, it is just not my crowd and I like watching my neighborhood's fireworks from my stoop.... while drunk...like the forefathers intended.

Private email this, private email that.

Let me know when they start using guerilla mail or something.

Outside my native country right now and making friends at the hotel I'm at, but most everyone is international (good) but as someone who has always prioritized home country travel for proximity, was, and price, it's very isolating when people forge friendships and then say "maybe I'll get a passport". Love the new friendships, but man is it a punch when everyone goes from "we'll meet up in...." to "it was a great to meet you".

Scene: at the vet

Vet tech provides a couple of rabies tags and leaves

Me: *picks them up to look at them*

Wife: *explains to me what they are*

M: they remind me of guitar picks

W: metal guitar picks?

M: why metal? Couldn't they be used for country or something?

About three seconds later her eyes shut as she understands the joke and the pain washes over her. She didn't want to dignify me with a laugh but let a smile seep through.

My nose hasn't been right since a sinus infection in like 2016 (mud run involving a slide and dirty water shooting straight up the passages like a good line of coke).

Nose bleeds in June now, eh?

I mean, it could have been the rainy weather outside and 99 degree yoga studio inside (class just started so no humidity yet).

Looks like saline is gonna become a daily....

8 more hours tomorrow and then, to paraphrase The Rock, OFF is the direction in which work can F*CK for a few days.

I'm reading the replies and feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

My guess is that there was a time in the early days of (commercial) computers where we still adhered to typewriter rules before it changed at some level.

BUT I did plenty of writing and PowerPoints when getting my BS 10 years ago and NOTHING. That is the discrepancy I am having trouble with when everyone says two spaces went away with typewriters.

My wife who is 5 years younger than me is saying she was taught one space after a period. Since I can remember, I've done two but only recently is msft word telling me I'm wrong. Feels like the comma wars.

This has come up now because I got 5 points off a college paper for bad spelling/punc/grammar and it gotta believe it's the punctuation....

@th3j35t3r hi, new phone. Android. Remind me how to get the cs app? Thanks!

Swept. So...159-3?

As the Mets announcers are saying the veterans are going to come around and warm up, it's stuff like this that you look at in September when five teams are within two games of each other for Division and Wild Card.

Then again, we won 100 a few years ago and were out in the first round.

Alvy had the plate get painted on him. Brutal. Perhaps a walk off though?

I'd be more excited by Marte getting a 2 out double with Alvarez up if it wasn't a 3 run gap (with 2 outs in the 8th).

Even as the Brewers bring a reliever out for a third inning, the Mets are sill doing what they are best at early in the season. Can't tell if we are unlucky/bad or if the Brewers are lucky/good.

A tale as old as time: Mets contact is weak infield or perfectly aimed flyouts.
