Just saw this: nbcnews.com/tech/security/cybe

Last week, Nebraska Medicine was hit as well. Happened to have an appointment and the threat was detected before damage was done, but some offices closed and others were on pen, paper, and old patient contact rosters.

The Collection came out on dvd sometime in the 2012 -2013 timeframe.

I just got around to watching it now.

A tad shocked to find out that the third film in the franchise is about ready to come out only now in 2020. There's benefits to waiting to watch a movie... intentional or not! Haven't been pining for it for 6+ years.

Any time I see Angel Hernandez trending, I'm about 50/50 laugh/cry.

It's incredible that's he's allowed to be a home plate ump.

Trevor Bauer taking the Cy Young from deGrom is going to be what pushes me into video games until Spring.

I look forward to his turn as a Met next year

A lot of directions for this SCOTUS thing to go...I almost think Trump's best play to get reelected is trying to get a judge in that he knows won't get approved...an extra talking point to blame on democrats.

I find the chess game fascinating (it's better than being hopelessly depressed about the situation).

The Turkey Bowl on Hulu sucks you in with a picture of Alan Ritchinson in a football movie, and you immediately think Blue Mountain State.

Throws you a curve ball with him barely in it, no Thadisms, and it's basically a hallmark movie for men/about peaking in highschool and ultimately choosing high school over life.

I once read an anecdote about a child dealing w/the death of a pet dog. The thought that dogs typically die somewhere in their teens is because they bring consistent joy & happiness. Always looking for & to provide love. They have short lived because that's their default.

When someone like Chadwick is taken so early, I can't help but think that while we would have liked for them to be around much longer, they already did enough good. He was T'Challa while battling cancer & we had no idea.

If two entities that provide something are in cahoots to keep other entities away, is that technically a monopoly? I know a monopoly is basically no competition, so what if the competitors have an agreement to at least minimize the field?

Democrat and Republican parties have worked together to keep third parties down. It's a monopoly on American politics that has left us w/dumb & dumber & a mindset of a 3rd party being a throw away or costing the loser. IT'S COMPETITION...IT'S OPTIONS.

@cryptojen I think my second paragraph explains the mindset of my first. I live in a very red state. My vote doesn't matter at a federal level because it's either part of the red masses or gets swallowed by it.

I've become a much larger supporter of local politics where the voting pool is way smaller.

Once you give up on the idea of having any say in federal level politics, life gets easier because...it's simply out of your control.

This, coming from someone in a state decidedly one color and doesn't mind ceding control and also thinks he's right but understands I'm probably wrong in all the ways.

Went from seeing the Mets were in final negotiations to be sold to a dude with 14 billion to Black Panther being dead.

Rollercoaster.

@Alt_Human between being part of something bigger and just knowing you have something in common with a bunch of people (and that can translate to anything). None of that seems to matter if you're not team oriented though. Never considered myself particular on team or solo.

They torture us & we keep coming back. Relationship could be a tad abusive as well. I think it depends on the team. One could argue yankee fans have a much healthier relationship with their team because on occasion, they win.

@Alt_Human there is also a peaceful sense of enjoying something that ultimately doesn't matter. I will throw some unholy words at the TV if I'm playing video games or an ump gives a bad call (should I actually watch). Stuff that matters like news or politics? No.

@Alt_Human games can be entirely too long. They've tried to improve pace of play with a few rules, but it can be quite a slog.

I've considered giving up sports, but will feel bad for abandoning only for a championship to happen. The beauty of a championship is, in part, all of the painful losses on the way.

If you're seeing parallels to substance abuse, you're not wrong. If you like stand up, I encourage 20 minutes of Jim Breuer talking Mets on youtube.

@Alt_Human did family sour you on it or just not that interested? I'm the only one in my family remotely interested. And it's just baseball, just the Mets.

Mets blew a 6 run lead in the bottom of the 9th last year. It was brutal. You keep watching because you don't really think they'll allow 7 runs before 3 outs. We were in a playoff race, so doing good, which makes you want to watch.

Players are giving up money to not play.

@Alt_Human From a baseball standpoint, the delay was largely the owners and players union negotiating. Players are free to-and some have-opted out of the season. Some just want to play. Maybe some will say otherwise, but I haven't heard of anyone being forced.

@Alt_Human you're not really a sport ball fan, are you? And I say that with respect. Some people can't get into it. How much would you say is too much? I don't get extremely invested because losing is depressing and I've been on the bad side of nasty implosions. Can't do it. Still want to see them win.

@Alt_Human hi, perhaps I phrased something poorly. I don't care what the players think. That's not a shut up and play mindset, it's a I'm not going to let their politics get in the way of enjoying them play mindset.

I hated not watching them play, but I didn't mind not seeing them lose. Your advice is followed more than you know.

The sports dominos are tumbling. Didn't really think the season would end with a world series (more likely covid), but I never anticipated a player boycott over a police shooting.

I don't care about a given player's opinion like some do. They can take all the knees they want, I just want a win.

I hope something good comes out of these efforts...this stand. Hope it's not all for nothing.

I love the Mets. Sometimes I find myself wondering why.
