@th3j35t3r been a few other Republican president's that he could have gone with other than the ONE that resigned...
@RedFalcon I have heard one reasoning for revolvers (as home defense) being an intimidation factor. Obviously a nasty shotgun or something has it's own intimidating presence, but being able to see the bullets in the revolver seemed to be a factor. As a gun person, would you agree with that argument? (Honest question)
Not even mad that the Dodgers beat Milwaukee. Brewers are fun to watch and this just adds a game to their season. Hopefully they can take it in 6...so they take it in front of that home field crowd.
Brewers home crowd is HOT. Makes every glimmer of offense and defense from them feel like you have to see it.
Kershaw in the playoffs being Kershaw in the playoffs...AGAIN.
This time it's his fault.
That quick camera cut to Dave Roberts...I thought they were going to show him breaking something.
Kershaw in the playoffs being Kershaw in the playoffs.
(Mostly his catcher's fault here, to be fair...)
@rcmaniac25 Well that does explain it a bit. I think a lot of people are waiting for genie. He's crucial.
@RedFalcon probably. Hope not. I'm confident in the Astros, but I can't have a Red Sux World Series birth hanging in the balance...especially with the Dodgers lurking in the NL. Nightmare scenario right there.
Can't escape the feeling that the Red Sux will win the DS, but my God am I looking forward to a game at Yankee Stadium with Angel Hernandez in charge of the strike zone (dude had 5 calls at 1B overturned last night).
Side note: back in 2004, the Yankees were the ones blowing the Sux out in the ALCS. Sux were down 3 games to none. Then they won 8 in a row.
@th3j35t3r Ivanka is the obvious thought...but this makes me wonder if Graham's words at the Kavanaugh hearings were for this scenario.
This is where baseball superstition lives: https://twitter.com/KleinschmidtJD/status/1048047353045733378?s=09
Would I rather have the Yankees out and the A's in or the New York crowd through the playoffs? Almost a tough decision. Go A's.
Getting to the wild card game IS NOT a playoff birth. WINNING the wild card game is. Really wish baseball, the teams, and the players would come around to that.
Very sad that Wright's playing career ended tonight and injuries will likely keep him out of the hall of fame, but I am relieved at the prospect of everyone being able to (maybe begrudgingly) move forward after tonight. If we were in contention, the farewell may not have been able to happen. I hope to see him become a coach at some point so he can still have a shot at a championship (and also be a shining example for every player coming through).
I have a few friends that are Cubs fans and as a Mets fan, there is an inherent disdain for the Dodgers. If the right teams win and lose tomorrow, they play for the Wild Card.
One day you win 90+ games and are working toward a playoff birth (the wild card game IS NOT -at least it shouldn't be- considered playoffs), the next you end up in the same place as the 100 loss Orioles.
Baseball is a fickle bitch.
I'm glad that the dust in my house has finally cleared up. Just in time for the Mets/Marlins to go into extras, postponing Wright's farewell speech to the crowd. I anticipate dust to manifest at that time.
Movie fan. Mets fan. I like to travel. Once scored a goal against a Jamaican soccer team in Cuba.
