I choose to read this piece as satire (it isn’t 😏), although it would have played better as such with at least one reference to “deflated balls.” But I guess when you’re writing about a [checks article] “staggeringly handsome quarterbacking demigod” — seriously, Rick, did you read that sentence out loud? — you don’t want to be too critical.
