The James Webb Space Telescope #JWST has smashed its own record for detecting the most distant known galaxy.
Called JADES-GS-z14-0, the collection of stars was spied as it was a mere 290 million years after the Big Bang.
#JWST took some imagines of the Crab nebula. Rami Mandow founder of https://spaceaustralia.com/ did some processing of the data.
see those horizontal plane rings? - that’s caused by the pulsar’s magnetosphere and rotation. It dumps A LOT of energy into the surrounding nebula.
The pulsar itself is tiny, only ~20km across, but it illuminates its surroundings 33 times per second and we can see its effect 6523 light years away 🤯
#NASA #JWST detects Methane, and carbon Dioxide atmosphere around exoplanet 120 light years from earth
This theoretical Hycean (hydrogen and ocean) planet could be covered in an ocean and have life.

Cycle 1 #JWST / MIRI images of the Fomalhaut Debris Disk reveals never before seen details of the inner regions of this complex exoplanetary system!
#JWST has detected Galaxies that existed only 325 Million years after the big bang. Or 2% of the current age of the universe. These Galaxies are metal poor, and pushing into an epoch when complex elements like carbon, oxygen and nitrogen had yet to be forged
#NASA #JWST Found Tatooine only 40 light years away.
Well, a planet orbiting a binary system, with Sand in the atmosphere

The #JWST team released these images of Saturn’s moon #Titan.
Images were taken by the NIRCam instrument on Nov. 4, 2022. Image on the left uses a single 2.12 μm filter sensitive to Titan’s lower atmosphere. Image on the right is a composite using filters at 1.4, 1.5 , 1.99 and 2.09 μm.
Several prominent surface features are labeled: Kraken Mare is thought to be a methane sea; Belet is composed of dark-colored sand dunes; Adiri is a bright albedo feature.
#JWST analyzed Wasp-39 b 's ( Described as a hot Saturn type gas giant)
signs of active chemistry and clouds, as well as a hint of scattered clouds rather than a single, uniform blanket over the planet

#DARTMission Press update today. Lots of good info. Key point is after impact there will be optical observatories around the gloobe, including #JWST #Hubble
detection of the change in Dimorphos' orbit around Didymos will be done by optical telescopes watching mutual eclipses of the two bodies. Just measuring light from the pair.
Truely an international mission
#JWST has spotted the oldest Galaxy ever seen. Only 300 million years old.

Have not seen this in the firehose. But the new fancy telescope is also good at look at things in our own solar system, and can detect Jupiter's faint ring, and moons
