🧵Honestly, I don't think a lot of Democrats see the big picture with public education. The GOP wants it to fail. They want to choke the life out of it. They see that it has created a generation that has completely turned on them. They are furious. This is retribution. #politics

@Jezibaba I agree with this. Hard-core right wingers have wanted to eliminate public education since around 1970. So, when they talk about stuff like giving the teachers guns, what they really want to do is create a situation where no parents will want to send their kids to school. After attendance goes low enough, they will then say, nobody's going to these schools, so we can just shut them down.
