Defense contractors price gouging the Pentagon.
This is why we can't get universal healthcare.

It would be helpful if the reporters covering congress read this and started pushing back on the default talk. I'm sure that isn't dramatic enough for them though.
Professors Tribe and Hockett wrote a letter explaining the non-existent debt ceiling and how willfully wrong the republicans are acting.
This is all just political theater. The president should order Treasury to keep paing bills.
Congressional Budget Office estimated in 2020 a switch to medicare for all would save the country 300-650 billion dollars a year and 68000 lives. Never getting passed because the health insurance industry would be shuttered and loose the golden goose that pays them $69billion a year.
We DO NOT live in a developed nation.

You don't hear much about Jane Roberts making $10 million dollars as a legal recruiter or about the Chief Justice never recusing from a case with a party that paid his wife millions.
Sure, Thomas is unethical but I wonder if any of the justices could stand up to scrutiny.

Every legitimate news organization should be identifying Trump as the only president to attempt a coup against his own country. It needs to be said... daily.

Ks legislature overrides governor vetos to pass law banning trans students from sports. Also allows genital inspection. The responses alternate included are worth the read. #politics #lgbtq #gross

Yesterday was a pretty good day for America. Wisconsin SC, Chicago mayor and the 1st Trump indictment.
Would love to see Georgia indict next.

The Kansas legislature passed a bill requiring gun safety be taught in school to grades K-8 yesterday. Rather than make adults responsible for their guns they want children to be responsible. We will see if the governor vetos it.

Teachers have pretty strong unions. I wonder how long until contract negotiations include school security requirements?
Start closing schools because they can't put a magnetometer at every door or an armed guard in every hallway. Maybe then we could get gun control.

An updated review of Eisenhower's Iron Cross speech about limiting the military industrial complex. Guns or butter? Hmm, pretty sure no one listened to him.
If time is short just read the gray shaded boxes.

"To make matters worse, American agriculture has been pounded by years of extreme weather"
Republicans want to strip environmental funds from the farm bill.
Sure, it's not like protecting the environment will ease extreme weather. I wonder if they remember the dust bowl of the 1930s?

Republicans, the party of death.
Not sure I understand the excitement about #trump possibly being indicted in the Stormy Daniels case. Cohen paid Daniels , this case is about how Trump classified the reimbursement to Cohen as legal expenses, usually a misdemeanor.
It's better than NO indictment but not by much. C'mon GA.

Kansas state legislator triggered by 3rd graders drawings. Only a republican...
This should be done across the entire federal government. They rapidly rolled out a ban of tic-tok. I would argue FoxNews is much more dangerous. FBI, DOD, DHS should not be provided free access to disinformation.

The republicans may have already introduced a means to shift SS/Medicare to discretionary spending. If the Supreme Court takes this case we could lose our SS/Medicare before the end of the year. There is a link to the decision in the article.

Can never start to soon. Legislation to introduce gun safety in schools...as soon as kindergarten. Sigh.
Yes, republicans want to cut, gut, sunset and abolish SS/Medicare but don't take it from me, hear them say it.
