Thought I could go back to an older Samsung Chromebook after the unforeseen death of my Pixelbook. This one is telling me it won't get any more security updates, not even for browser vulnerabilities π this is going to be an expensive weekend.

Got ota updates for the browser! Still impressed by how well this 6 year old Samsung Chromebook Pro runs. Looks like this will be daily driver for now π

@ecksmc Thanks! Been looking into Flex, probably try to set it up over the weekend. Losing access to android apps would suck tho.
@Jule_B yeah if you have been used to using android apps it will be something you'll miss
personally i don't really use android apps on my chromebook - i only have 3 android apps installed on mine
can set up PWA's for most stuff which are much better for performance than using loads of Android apps which can be a massive memory drain as well as storage
@ecksmc Play Books and Kindle are the big ones. Otherwise most everything else is browser
@Jule_B i would instal a linux distro on a EOL chromebook
or another option you can probably install Chrome OS Flex on your EOL Chromebook you get seamless OS updates with flex
