Since some people appear to be a little dense, let's be clear: The idea that a spree killer would have views and an outlook on life identical to a relatively normal person in the cultural environment that surrounds them is absurd. There is something wrong with their heads.

Could it be that certain political or religious leaders may have created an atmosphere that encouraged them to act out in their fantasies? Certainly. But it would be surprising to find any consistency or logic in the beliefs of someone who just whacked a group of people.

People who go on shooting sprees are by definition off-the-chain. It's not really helpful to speculate on their motivations, except to note that usually they are acting out fantasies that they have nursed for a long time.

So far, I've been spending all my time blocking or muting people over there without actually seeing very many posts that are worthwhile or getting much interaction.

@homebird @John_Scotus also there's this...you really don't know if it's a fake account or not.

And I should use Mastodon because that's where all the snooty people post? Seems to be the case.

Seen on Mastodon: "I ride a bike! I'm better than all you damned fools who drive cars and end up having to look for parking spaces."

I block pompous asses like this. Most people don't live in cities practical for bike riding. I know I don't.

This is one of those songs I haven't heard played in decades, but I often find myself humming.

As Tim Miller notes in this incendiary post, the decision by Colorado Springs to not invoke the red flag law that would have saved 5 lives was not through neglect: It was an active choice to prioritize the right of the criminally insane to own guns over the lives of others.
