Intelligence gathering (aka spying) has changed dramatically since 9/11/2001. Instead of improving, it's gotten more difficult and less productive. There's almost too much electronic intelligence for analysts to sift through while human intelligence is drying up.
Our current practices and sources will have to be reconsidered in the near future.
