Why JD Vance won in Ohio.. We GOTTA do better, people! He actually won with 25% of the TOTAL voters.
According to the Ohio Secretary of State website, Ohio had 8,029,950 registered voters as of Nov. 3, 2022. A total of 4,201,368 people voted in the November 2022 election for a 52.3% turnout rate.
@Cosmichomicide Ex-act-a-mundo!! There should be NO such thing as an "off year" election! We must get out the BLUE vote! We also should analyze the votes cast in 2022 and work on purple counties.
@Cosmichomicide examine the small winning margin.. a few votes in each county will flip Ohio blue, imo. We gotta find 'em.
That's why Team Tang and Cambridge Analytica were so effective in 2016. The voter micro-targeting was absolutely insane.
@Cosmichomicide
Yep.. but now WE can do this too.. hecks.. ChatGPT AI can deliver details.
Nope. Current *public AI models don't do that level of fine detailed analysis, nor do they have access to the good data that Cambridge Analytical were churning out, courtesy of Evil Coneheads Robert Mercer and his spawn, Rebekah.
Strangely, one of the positives to come out of the enshittification of Twitter and Facebook is that they are far less impactful than they were in 2016.
@Cosmichomicide 2016.. was a long time ago in the world of tech.
Newt Gingrich was first got into congress with only 33% of folks in his district voting.
Off years are perilous.
@JazzCrafter
Ohio Voter Turnout in 2020 was 67.43%.
In 2022 it was 47.41%.
That is completely stable within a percentage point or two, since 2000.
Presidential years, Ohio turns out. Off years, they don't.
The winners were (starting with Bill):
Clinton 2x
Bush 2x
Obama 2x
Trump 2x
The most recent polls are all from RW polling groups, so waiting to see better post DNC polls.
