Some catfish are just horrible liars who cannot even keep their stories straight.
Meet "Leonard Harris". First, he had three kids, they were all boys, then when I asked how old his boys were, he corrected me and said he has one boy and one girl. Then Leonard asked about my child, so I blocked him.
Leonard And His Lair of Lies
Leonard also told me he lives in North Carolina, and yesterday was a beach day for he and the kids in NC ... (Thread)
...then this morning, "Leonard" sends me a stock photo, calling it breakfast he made for his kids ...
Ever since I started responding to "Leonard", he kept trying to sneak in "sexy talk", which I wouldn't indulge at all, but was interested to see where the conversation would otherwise go.
I don't know who the pictures in the profile are, but I can safely say I think someone stole someone else's photos to build a fake profile.. anyway, #endrant ...
Stay safe out there, folks!
@Jax_Wild_4_Life Yeah, lots of that out there. 😬
@kel absolutely, but for some reason, I found this one mildly entertaining. I think mainly because he was so bad at lying, and he was also shameless with the "sex talk" (to which, I just kept telling him to settle down and redirect the conversation)
@Jax_Wild_4_Life I think there's something broken about them, and sometimes that is very dangerous—especially online. There are all kinds of ways to track people down.
You didn't ask for advice, but you seem cool and I'd like for you to stick around. Maybe don't indulge them for entertainment? 😉
@kel awwe thank you Kel! 😊 for the concern and well wishes - 💓 you're pretty cool, yourself.
And you're not wrong, things could go south very quickly when one isn't careful. There are serious creepers out there, and predators; I get that, but I also understand that there are good people being taken advantage of. I guess I just wanna find what drives the creepers and catfish I guess, like a social experiment.
I've even video called fake celeb accounts to see who they are & if they'll discuss ...
@kel ... why they do what they do ...
@kel I know Kel, and a big part of me agrees. Again: you're not wrong. As far as most catfish goes, I will be more careful. It's not paranoia at all, it's just common sense for those of us who 'know better', and I do ... but also curiosity gets me every time.
I will be more careful going forward. I always used to be, and for good reason. No point in letting curiosity get the best of me. I'm about real engagement, not risk over gain. The fake Tom Greens are insane in other platforms! My GAWWWD
