Regardless of politics, Rubio has been relating some pretty sobering stuff, presumably from what he's hearing in briefings.
It's not too far off from some of the public analysis by professionals.

It's entirely possible that this is his own take. But given his position on committees in the Senate, it's also possible he's relating what he's hearing
Anything is possible, but since we agree that he hopes to profit from catastrophe, why would I take him seriously?
He's not the only one on Committees in the Senate, he's just the only one shooting his mouth off about impending doom.
