Coffee City, Texas, with 250 people, has 50 full-time officers, that's one police officer for every 5 residents. The officers appear to be very busy. They issued a whopping 5,100 citations last year, making more than $1M in revenue for the town budget.

@JV3MJD Sounds like the crony system at work again when it’s supposed to be merit based in civil service.
Where I live, it’s hard enough to get one of them to drop a doughnut long enough to respond to a call about illegal street racing which has been known to kill innocent bystanders.
