watching IT personnel meet with business personnel is amusing to me.

The language is both the same but the meanings are VERY different.

The subtle differences are enough to throw a project WAY off of the path. I'm not certain most people realize it which I suspect is where the conflicts tend to come from.

I have often been in a similar place at work with business folks and creatives--working in marketing or on proposals. The words may be the same but the mindsets are two different cultures.

I say one of my main skills is "translation"--sometimes literally standing between them going "what they means is..." and "what they're saying is..."
