Hey @CinnamonGirlE AKA Cinni β
Whatβs all this about shrimp nβ grits?
We should have a cookoff.
I promise I wonβt make you listen to Mickey And Sylviaβs βLove Is Strange.β

@InUnfunky
You promise? That means I have to promise too, lol.
I make a low country creole version with cheese grits. Its southern and good π€π
Only if we both agree to punish ourselves via song kitsch. Yesterday was enough...for a while. heh
Recipe probs pretty similar -- shrimp get a olive oil/garlic/tom marinade w/white wine. Grits hit with more garlic, chicken stock, half/half, cheese n' butter at the end.
Anecdotal -- been in CT then SE VT since '99...and I have yet to see this "maple syrup (it's beyond fantastic, can't lie) in people's grits" travesty. So don't believe THAT hype. π€
@InUnfunky
Sounds pretty similar. Using some andoullie sausage with it and yes the garlic is imperative.
I adore the real deal maple syrup, but have never tried it in grits. I would be game, lol. I'll try most anything once.
If (proverbial) we want to make "corn pudding" then we should make corn pudding and leave it at that. π But no joke, NE maple syrup is incredible...and why they try to put it in EVERYTHING. heh
Trying any food item once -- remember that meme @Maude posted? That one works, but is there a Southern US variant with squirrel and snapping turtle and rattlesnake? π
Related -- @Bix says he's not a fan of Marmite and @JoyfullyDazed hates hummus. Anything you'd rule out? π€

WHAT THE HELL, BRO
It was the accent, wasn't it.
WASN'T IT!??
HOW COULD YOU? π π
